Africa Impact Forum

About the forum

Modelled after the Resnick Aspen Action Forum but designed specifically for the African context, the ALI Africa Impact Forum (AIF) was initiated by the leadership of the Africa Leadership Initiative. This event brings together Fellows from ALI South Africa, ALI West Africa, ALI East Africa, ALI Mozambique, ALI Media, and the Young Africa Leadership Initiative (YALI). The ALI Africa Impact Forum aims to provide these Fellows with a platform to deeply connect and engage on matters of significance to the whole continent. Over three days, it provides an opportunity for connection, reflection and a deepening of the pool of influential, effective and ethical leaders across Africa who assume personal and collective accountability for the “Good Society”. The AIF serves to strengthen the African Fellows network and seek spaces where Fellows can act together in an inclusive and supportive environment. Hosting of the event is rotated amongst the various ALI regional Fellowships every two years.

  • The first AIF, hosted by ALI South Africa, was held in 2018 in Stellenbosch, SA
  • ALIWA hosted the second edition of the Africa Impact Forum in Accra, Ghana in February 2020.
  • ALI EA is in line to host the 3rd AIF in Rwanda in 2022.
